Terms of Use

Terms of use for the Shift4You application.

Effective date

1. General Terms

These terms of use (“Terms”) govern your use of Shift4You (“App”), developed by Ömer Elmas (“Developer”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

How your data is handled is explained in the Privacy Policy.

2. Service Description

Shift4You is a calendar-based planning app for shift workers. Its main features are:

  • recurring shift patterns and a calendar,
  • statistics,
  • overtime and estimated earnings,
  • leave suggestions based on public holidays,
  • shift reminders and a shift alarm,
  • pattern sharing with coworkers.

The App is free and ad-supported. It is provided “as is”.

3. Usage Requirements

  • You must be over 13 years old to use the App.
  • You need an Apple device with a compatible version of iOS.
  • You may not use the App for unlawful purposes or in breach of these Terms.
  • You may not reverse engineer, extract or modify the App’s source code.
  • You may not use the sharing feature for misleading or unlawful content, or content that infringes the rights of others.

4. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the App’s design, code, graphics and content belong to the Developer. These Terms grant you a limited, personal and non-transferable licence to use the App.

5. Estimates and Informational Content

5.1 Overtime and Earnings

Overtime, premium hours and earnings are estimates calculated on your device from the country rules you select and the information you enter.

  • Collective agreements, employer practices, taxes, deductions and changes in the law can change the result.
  • The calculations do not replace an official payslip and are not legal, financial or tax advice.
  • For decisions about your pay, rely on your payslip, your employment contract and your employer.

5.2 Public Holidays and Leave Suggestions

Holiday data is compiled by the Developer from open sources (including the open-source python-holidays project) and official announcements, and is updated through the App. It may be incomplete, delayed or differ for your region or employer; for example, some regional days are observed only by public offices. Administrative leave days apply only to public employees and are shown only when you turn on the related option in Settings. Confirm your leave plans with official sources and your employer.

5.3 Weather

Weather information is provided by Apple Weather for information only. Its accuracy is not guaranteed.

6. Shift Alarm and Notifications

The shift alarm and reminders run on iOS’s notification and alarm system. They may not ring, or may be delayed, if:

  • permissions are turned off,
  • the device is off or its battery runs out,
  • system settings or iOS behaviour prevent it,
  • the information in your calendar is out of date.

Do not rely solely on the App for important wake-ups or for getting to work; set a backup alarm when needed. The Developer is not liable for consequences of an alarm or notification that does not ring or is delayed.

7. Pattern Sharing

QR codes and links created with Share My Pattern contain the pattern details you select. Anyone who has the link or QR code can see that content. You are responsible for what you share.

Patterns you receive from others are not checked by the Developer. The App shows you a pattern’s contents before adding it to your calendar, and it is your responsibility to check them before applying. The Developer is not liable for errors in patterns received from others.

8. Advertisements

The App shows adverts through Google AdMob. Ad content is supplied by third parties; the Developer is not responsible for it.

You can manage your tracking preference in iOS Settings. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, you can change your consent from Settings → Ad Preferences in the App. See the Privacy Policy for details.

9. iCloud Sync

iCloud sync is an optional feature. The Developer cannot be held liable for:

  • outages of Apple’s iCloud service,
  • data loss,
  • sync problems.

As long as the iCloud backup stays in your account, it can be restored when you reinstall the App. We recommend keeping a separate backup of important data.

10. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following services, which are subject to their own terms:

  • Apple: iCloud, WeatherKit, Maps, Siri, AlarmKit,
  • Google: AdMob, Firebase.

The Developer cannot be held liable for outages of or changes to these services.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available”. The Developer does not guarantee:

  • the accuracy of shift calculations,
  • the accuracy of overtime and earnings estimates,
  • that holiday data is complete or up to date,
  • that alarms and notifications will work on time in every situation,
  • that the App will run without interruption or errors.

The Developer cannot be held liable for indirect damages arising from use of the App.

We recommend that you do not base your shift planning solely on this App and that you also check your official work schedule. Your statutory rights as a consumer, which cannot be limited by contract, are not affected.

12. Relationship with Apple

These Terms are between you and the Developer. Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for maintaining or supporting the App.

For the App downloaded from the App Store, Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) also applies.

13. Changes

These Terms may be updated from time to time. Updates are published on this page with the date of the update. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Applicable Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. The courts of Türkiye have jurisdiction over disputes. Mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence are not affected.
